December 17, 2010. COMMENT - Dea Edmondson: Ormond Williams, son of Dallas & Susie, was married to my late husband's aunt, Thelma Edmondson. My husband and I attended a family reunion in the early 1960's at the Williams home on Knotts Island.

Dallas Edward Williams born 1892 married 17 April 1910 Addie Susan "Susie" Brumley born 1892 daughter of John Jesse Brumley and Lydia Asbury "Tid" Beasley.
Dallas Edward had 5 brothers and sisters.
1. Eva E. William b ca 1888 d 26 Aug 1962 married 7 July 1907 Nolly (Nollie) Anderson Waterfield b May 1888 d 8 Oct 1938 son of Reuben Waterfield and Georgianna Brumley.
2. Roland Hunter Williams b 26 July 1889 married 11 Sept 1909 Louise Lorene Craft no children but they adopted a child
3.Alonzo Elswood Williams b 1 Feb 1892 d 23 April 1953 md Bertha Williams born 31 Mar 1897 d 15 Sept 1963 daughter of John Walter Williams and Mary Elizabeth Waterfield

Dallis Edward Williams born 1892 was the son of Thomas Dudley Williams b 3 Sept 1858 Knotts Island, NC d 25 June 1931 married 19 July 1883 Knotts Island, NC Willie Emma Miller b 1 April 1869 d 3 Feb 1948 daughter of John L. Miller and Mary E.
Thomas Dudley Williams was the son of Robert Williams and Rhoda Dudley.(Thomas had 12 brothers and sisters).
Robert Williams born 26 Oct 1822 ad 17 Aug 1893 and Rhoda Dudley b 14 April 1840 d 22 Oct 1899 daughter of Thomas Dudley and Rhoda Waterfield. (Robert had one brother John b 13 May 1817 and d 6 June 1890 married 7 Nov 1856 Rhoda's sister Frances and two sister's that never married Mary (Polly) and Elizabeth. These four were the children of John Williams b 1787 (could not find death date) and married Lydia Dudley.
So this family was one of the first families on Knotts Island and has many ancestors still living there. Brenda Twiford and I are trying to tie Tim (son of Elliott Williams) into this line right now. The lack of wills and land transfers are causing a problem. We can't find documentation evidence that they belong to the same family but we are pretty sure they do connect.
